Review

This review applies to version 1.0 The latest version of this software will soon be reviewed by our informers.

EZdrummer 1.0 is a multi-microphone drum sampler designed for musicians.

The software has 7000 sound files at 16-bit / 44.1kHz equivalent to 5Gb of uncompressed wav files. It features more than 8000 midi drum patterns with pre-listening, quick browsing and drag’n’drop functionality. It also has same extensive layer depth on all drums and cymbals as in EZdrummers big brother - dfh SUPERIOR. The program ranges from entry level usability to pro handling. It also features multiple microphone control. The TPC II reduces system resource usage to a minimal level. The internal mixer allows stereo and multi-track routing into the host through one single plug in. The Preset mix modes helps in quick sound changes. The software interface visualizes the drums loaded and combines auditioning and kit construction. The humanizer function combines drum hit randomizing and non-cycling. The Velocity sweep function helps in instant changes for MIDI data, extending groove context relevance. The user could add MIDI files to the library. The users can also control microphone bleeding and levels between drums using the internal mixer.

The software allows the user to produce quality professional sounding drum tracks in an easy and efficient manner.
Advantages
  • Huge library with various options.
Disadvantages
  • Can’t mix and match drums from different kits
